Stablecoin supply hits new highs as USDC and USDT issuance accelerates
Aggregate stablecoin supply crossed previous peak, with combined USDC and USDT issuance accounting for the bulk of the move.
Total stablecoin supply has crossed its prior all-time high, with the combined float of USDT and USDC accounting for the majority of the increase. Aggregate supply expansion is a leading indicator that has historically correlated with stronger spot bid in BTC and ETH on a 30-90 day lag.
Why it matters
Stablecoin supply expansion represents new dollar liquidity entering crypto rails. Net mints typically precede deployment into spot or DeFi. The relationship is far from mechanical, but consistent enough that experienced desks track it.
